SEQUIM — A section of Woodcock Road will be closed for the summer as crews repair the Ward Bridge.

Clallam County commissioners approved earlier this month a 106-day closure starting June 17 and ending Sept. 30. During construction Woodcock Road will be closed between milepost 2.27 and milepost 2.39.

Clallam County Engineer Tyler Ross told the commissioners that reader boards have been informing drivers of the project for the past month.

He expects the road to be closed at least through mid-August.

He said the county likely will not put up signage for a detour route unless the county hears consistent complaints.

He said adding a detour route could be more complicated than just letting drivers find their own routes.

“Just go however you want to go,” he said. “It will be fine.”
