NEWS BRIEFS: Coffee with the mayor set for Thursday … and other items

SEQUIM — Mayor Dennis Smith will host Coffee with the Mayor at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The informal monthly meeting will be held at the Black Bear Diner, 1471 E. Washington St.

Barry Berezowsky, director of community development, will join Smith.

Homeless Connect

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System has announced that it will participate in Clallam County Project Homeless Connect from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday.

The project will be held in the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.

According to a press release, library staff will provide information about library resources and programs as well and issue new or replacement library cards.

The annual event offers on-site services and helps build community connections with people who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness.

Call for artists

SEQUIM — The 124th Sequim Irrigation Festival is seeking artists for the 2019 Innovative Arts and Crafts Fair.

The fair will be held from May 3 though May 5 on the Civic Center Plaza and on Cedar Avenue.

According to a press release, the fair emphasizes reused, repurposed and recycled art but will consider any vendor of high quality hand-made craft products.

Applications will be accepted until Friday for this juried show.
