PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Fine Arts Center docent Laurie Reeve looks up biographical information on artist Caroline Cueva of Lima, Peru, whose work titled “And then I remembered, we are mortal and youth is fleeting,” front, is a featured installation at the center’s current showing, “Material as Metaphor.”

The collection of mixed-media art runs through Feb. 17.

The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd. is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Thursday through Sunday. Admission is free.
