Truck jackknifed

PORT TOWNSEND — A semitruck towing a box trailer jackknifed blocking U.S. Highway 101 about 10 miles south of Port Townsend.

The disabled vehicle blocked traffic in both directions for more than two hours Tuesday night.

According to the State Patrol, driver Angel Calderon of Las Vegas was northbound near mile marker 282 when he braked hard to avoid another vehicle.

This caused his truck to fishtail and jackknife.

There were no injuries in the wreck.

The State Patrol reported that the cause of the accident was following too closely; charges are pending.
