BRINNON — Washington State Troopers were investigating a fatal wreck on U.S. Highway 101 near Brinnon Sunday afternoon.

Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said there is one confirmed death in the two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 302, about six miles north of Brinnon.

She said the wreck was reported at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday and that the northbound lane was blocked. She said traffic control would be implemented.

“Those who do attempt to travel through the area — please be patient as troopers conduct their investigation,” she said in a tweet.

At about 4:45 p.m. there was a report of a two-car wreck about a half mile south of the first wreck that had minor injuries, she said.

She did not know how long the highway would be blocked.
