Three Sequim students feted for their work

SEQUIM — The Rotary Club of Sequim has announced three Sequim High School students as its students of the month.

The students are Porter Funston, January; Haelee Andres, February; and Arlene Law, March.

Each honoree received a letter from the club to use in their scholarship notebooks, a certificate of recognition for display and a commemorative collector coin from the club.

Mary Budke, chairperson for Rotary’s Student of the Month Recognitions, orated each student’s nomination letter from their respective teachers.

Porter Funston

Funston excels in mathematics and plans to pursue an education and career in bio-engineering.

Haelee Andres

Andres participates in rotary’s Interact Club at the high school, and participates in various charitable programs and events.

She plans to attend Central Washington University and become an art teacher.

Arlene Law

Law is a 4.0 student and is also the junior class Associated Student Body adviser.

She plans to pursue sign language as a career.
