PA’s Anstett wins Rogers Invitational

PORT ANGELES — Jake Anstett of Port Angeles won the checkered flag and a $1,500 crash prize at the Rogers Invitational Motorcross races at the Deer Park Motorcross track Sunday.

Anstett is sponsored by 6-D Helmets, Devol Engineering, Canvas MC and Pro Wheel.

Second place was Chance Blackrun of Chehalis, who won $1,000 and third was Zach Redding of Puyallup with a $500 purse and fourth was Bryan O’Neil of Port Angeles, who won $250.

In the Women’s Pro class, first place was taken by Kerstin Orkney, who was awarded $750; second was Ashley Freeman who won $500 and Lacie Murray, who won $250.

The race was sponsored by the Olympic Peninsula Motorcycle Club and Avery Roger’s Promotions.

Chimacum vs. North Mason

PORT LUDLOW — The Chimacum boys and girls kept it close against North Mason in an Olympic League meet last week.

The boys were edged at Port Ludlow on Thursday 177-199, while the girls lost 237-250.

The Chimacum boys were led by Logan Storm, who shot a solid 43, just one shot behind the best round of the day.

Nate Miller shot a 46, while Sean Storey carded a 51 and Brayden Yingling a 59. North Mason’s Eric Jones had the best round of the day with a 42.

The Chimacum girls were led by Lacey Bishop, who shot a 58. Erin Crouch carded a 59, while Delana Horner shot a 65 and Janae Murray a 68.

Chimacum next plays Port Townsend at Port Ludlow at 3 p.m. Monday.
