NEWS BRIEFS: Two outages affect Sequim on Wednesday night … and other items

SEQUIM — Two electrical power outages plagued the Sequim area Wednesday night.

Power was restored by 9:15 p.m. Wednesday to areas that lost electrical power when a Bonneville Power Administration line went down at about 7:15 p.m.

The outage stretched from Sequim to Blyn and surrounding areas.

Then a transformer blew at Fourth and West Pine streets in Sequim, the Clallam County Public Utility District said on its website at www.clallampud.net.

Crews repaired the damage by 11:15 p.m., the PUD said.

The PUD offices were closed Thursday and will be closed today for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Unity speaker

PORT ANGELES — Unity in the Olympics’ 10:30 a.m. Sunday service speaker will be the Rev. Eva McGinnis.

Her lesson at the church at 2917 E. Myrtle St. is titled “The Gifts of Gratitude.”

McGinnis is a metaphysical minister with a background in teaching, writing and counseling in various educational and nonprofit settings.

A time for silent meditation will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Child care is available during the service.

‘Messy Church’

PORT ANGELES — Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host “Messy Church” in the fellowship hall, 301 E. Lopez Ave., from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“Messy Church” is an intergenerational worship experience with devotions, a common meal and sometimes messy activities.

The theme is: “Jesus heals many people; here he helps a blind man to see again.”
