CHIMACUM — Lane Dotson, a three-sport athlete at Chimacum High School, signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Skagit Valley College.

Dotson, who graduated in June, played football, basketball and baseball for the Cowboys. As a baseball player, Dotson batted .381 his senior season and was selected first team Olympic League 1A. He also made all-Olympic League 1A as a football player.

Pirate Basketball Camp

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College Pirate Basketball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 10-13 at the PC gymnasium.

The camp is for kids aged 7 and older and costs $75. It will be run by Peninsula men’s coaches Mitch Freeman and Donald Rollman and assisted by Pirate players.

There are two scholarships available for people who cannot pay the fee. For questions on payment or other information, contact drollman@pencol.edu. Pre-registration is online at http://portangelesboysbasketball.siplay.com/site, or payment can be made at the door.

Free tennis camp

PORT ANGELES — A free tennis camp for eighth-graders and high school boys will be held from July 17-28 at the Port Angeles High School tennis courts. Incoming freshmen instruction is from 9 a.m. to noon and others from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. These camps are helpful for boys who might like to try high school tennis.

Warehouse training

PORT ANGELES — Joe Marvelle is hosting basketball training sessions with Chris Hyppa Basketball’s lead trainer Mark Wilkerson on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9 at The Warehouse training court at 519 E. Second St. in Port Angeles.

The one-hour training sessions cost is $45 for one session and $40 each for multiple sessions. For more information or to schedule a session please call Marvelle at 360-460-4746.
