PORT LUDLOW — The driver and passenger of a Chevrolet Silverado were uninjured after the truck lost a wheel and rolled over Saturday afternoon.

Port Ludlow Fire &Rescue’s Lt. Alex Kosiuga said the fire department responded to the wreck at about 4 p.m. Saturday.

The vehicle was traveling north on state Highway 19 near milepost 3 when it lost its left front wheel, hit a tree and rolled over, partially blocking the northbound lane.

The driver and passenger self-extricated.

The wheel sheered off the vehicle because of mechanical issues, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Denney said in a press release.

Traffic was slowed for about an hour while the vehicle was righted and towed away.

Port Ludlow Fire &Rescue and the Jefferson Count Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
