PORT TOWNSEND — The second annual Old School 4th of July, celebrating interdependence JeffCo style, will feature live music, food vendors, a beer garden, a car show, a hot air balloon, field games, free root beer floats, mini-golf and a tug of war.

“It is going to be a massive community celebration,” said Danny Milholland, owner of Thunderbull Productions, an event organizer.

“There are a lot of activities taking place at this year’s event.”

The celebration will culminate in a spectacular display of fireworks, Milholland said.

“It will be on par with last year’s show,” he said.

“It will be a good show — definitely some ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs.’ Dr. David Chuljian is at the helm, and he is a third-generation dentist and pyrotechnician in Port Townsend.”

The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 10:10 p.m. Monday at Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way.

Event parking will be available on the parade grounds for a suggested donation of $5 per vehicle.

A Discover Pass will not be required to park on the parade grounds but will be required for all parking areas managed by State Parks.
