Clallam treasurer to speak to Democrats next Wednesday in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES — Selinda Barkhuis, Clallam County treasurer, will speak to the Clallam County Democrats at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Barkhuis will speak at the Clallam County Democratic headquarters, 124 W. First St. The program is free and open to the public.
She will discuss her disagreements with the Clallam County commissioners, the role and responsibilities of the county treasurer, and take questions from the audience.
Barkhuis was elected treasurer in 2010 and re-elected without opposition in 2014.
Prior to running for public office, she earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington and practiced law in Clallam County.
In that capacity, she received the distinguished service award from the Clallam County Pro Bono Lawyers and the pro bono publico award from Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers.
This program is free, and members of the public are encouraged to attend.
