FRIDAY PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Some area teams blow out, others blown out; Sequim's game canceled

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend pitched its fourth shutout in five games this season, blanking Chimacum 58-0 in a one-sided Quimper Quarrel rivalry game at Memorial Field on Friday.

The eighth-ranked Redhawks led 21-0 after one quarter and 49-0 at halftime.

Wesley Wheeler ran for three touchdowns for Port Townsend. Ezra Easley had two TD runs and was responsible for the final two points when he tackled Cowboys quarterback Cole Dotson in the end zone with six minutes remaining.

Jacob Ralls intercepted two passes and returned a first-quarter punt 53 yards for a touchdown, the second kick he’s taken to the house this season.

Sequim’s game canceled

Sequim was scheduled to play at Centralia on Friday, but the game was canceled due to a lockdown at Centralia High School that was caused by a potential threat of violence.

There was a possibility that the game would be played Saturday, but that would have caused too much of a conflict with SAT testing for Sequim players and Centralia’s homecoming dance. Ergo, the game will not be rescheduled.
