PREPS: Quilcene’s Pol voted SeaTac League MVP; Rae, Weller picked to volleyball first team

QUILCENE — Quilcene running back and linebacker Colten Pol was voted SeaTac League MVP by league’s football coaches.
Rangers head coach Byron Wilson said Pol was a quick and unanimous pick as the league’s top player.
Pol, a senior, finished the year with 1,829 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns for the Rangers, who went 7-3 and made the state playoffs.
He was joined on the all-league team by a host of teammates.
Junior Eli Harrison earned first-team honors for his play at defensive back and punter and was a second-team offense selection at quarterback.
Junior Nate Weller earned first-team nods for his play on the offensive and defensive lines.
Senior fullback Triston Williams was a “flex” pick to the all-league first team and also earned a first-team selection at linebacker.
Senior Brandon Bessey made the second team at tight end and defensive end.
Center Hayes Beathard was picked to the second team.
Quilcene defensive backs A.J. Prater and Caleb Anderson received honorable mention along with offensive linemen Zach Collins and Paul Huwyler.
Collins also earned honorable mention at defensive end.
Evergreen Lutheran’s Nathan Seiltz was chosen as coach of the year.
Volleyball honors
Quilcene senior Sammy Rae and junior Megan Weller were both voted to the SeaTac League first team by the league’s volleyball coaches.
Teammates Allison Jones and Emily Hitt were picked for the second team.
At last week’s Class 1B state tournament, Katie Bailey, Jones and Alex Johnson received sportsmanship awards.
