Ballots still streaming in for auditors; 15% returned in Clallam while Jefferson gets 21% back

Ballots for the Nov. 4 general election continue flowing in for Clallam and Jefferson counties.

Clallam County ballots were mailed to 46,887 registered voters, and 7,154 ballots had been returned as of Friday.

“On Oct. 24, we received an additional 1,055 ballots. This gives us a 15.26 percent return so far,” Clallam County Auditor Patty Rosand said in an email Friday.

In Jefferson County, of 22,844 registered voters receiving ballots, the county received 4,925 ballots as of Friday for a return rate of 21.56 percent, the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office said.

Ballots must be postmarked for the all-mail primary by Nov. 4.

Ballots also can be hand-delivered by 8 p.m. that day.

In Clallam County, they can be taken to:

■ Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Drop boxes are outside the courthouse and in the Auditor’s Office.

■ Sequim Village Shopping Center, 609 W. Washington St., near the city’s utility payment drop box in the J.C. Penney parking lot.

■ Forks District Court, 502 E. Division St.

In Jefferson County, ballots can be taken to:

■ Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend. Drop boxes are available behind the courthouse and inside the Auditor’s Office.

■ Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock.

Anyone who has not received a ballot should phone or stop by his or her county Auditor’s Office.

Those not currently registered to vote in Washington state can register at their county Auditor’s Office until Monday.
