Woman in Sept. 27 head-on near Hoodsport dies

HOODSPORT — A 68-year-old Shelton woman who lost control of her car and struck an oncoming vehicle being driven by a Nordland woman Sept. 27 has died, the State Patrol said Wednesday.

Kathleen V. Price, the Shelton driver, was in a 2014 white Volkswagen Jetta southbound on U.S. Highway 101 about 2 miles north of Hoodsport when she struck head-on a silver 2001 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Joyce E. Gordon, 65, according to a State Patrol report.

Price was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the State Patrol.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
