Winter schedule for state parks on Olympic Peninsula announced

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has announced its 2014-2015 winter schedule, with more than 60 parks remaining open seven days a week for camping and day-use activities.
The winter schedule is available online at www.parks.wa.gov/158/Winter-Schedule.
About 24 parks are closed until dates in March, April or May, due to weather and other circumstances, according to a news release.
Campers should be aware that some parks may shut off water systems even if the park is open.
North Olympic Peninsula parks and their schedules are:
■ Anderson Lake: Day-use closes Nov. 1 and reopens April 25.
■ Bogachiel: Some campsites are closed in the winter.
■ Dosewallips: Campground partially open; water supply at utility sites may be turned off during freezing weather; intermittent river flooding in December and January. During flooding, the day-use area is closed. Phone 360-796-4415 for flooding information.
■ Fort Flagler: Open; RV dump station closed Nov. 1 to Feb. 28; RVs can dump at site 95; museum open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends from October to May; docks are removed and will be reinstalled in March; upper campground loop reopens May 1; limited water facilities Nov. 1 to Feb. 28.
■ Fort Townsend: Campground closes Wednesday and reopens April 1; day-use open; water supply in day-use area is turned off for season; restrooms still open; trailer dump is closed until second weekend in March.
■ Fort Worden: Open; lower campground can be reserved year-round; water supply turned off at individual campsites through Feb. 15; potable water available near restroom across from campsite 24 and near dump station in the upper campground; launch float to be reinstalled in March.
■ Sequim Bay: Some campsites are closed in the winter.
