EYE ON CLALLAM: County to mull elected officials’ pay

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss salary options for elected officials Monday.

The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Last month, Commissioner Jim McEntire floated the idea of adjusting elected officials’ salaries to the part-time state Legislature.

Commissioners Monday also will discuss a proposed ordinance establishing interim zoning controls for producing, processing and retail sales of legalized recreational marijuana.

The proposed marijuana ordinance will be considered for action at 10 a.m. Tuesday

On Monday, commissioners also will hear an update on a five-year prevention plan, discuss proposed amendments to employee benefits and consider a mediator’s settlement proposal for a contract with Teamsters Local 589.

Other agenda items include a bid award for Old Olympic Highway improvements and a letter of support for a Composite Recycling Technology Center.

Port Angeles City Council

Port Angeles City Council members will consider Tuesday adopting a flat fee for utility rates for 2015.

They will meet in executive session at 5 p.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St., to review the performance of City Manager Dan McKeen and discuss potential litigation.

They will meet at 6 p.m. in regular session, beginning with a first reading and review of a revised city shoreline master program and a review of projected 2015 revenues and expenditures.

They will follow that with a discussion on establishing a flat fee to replace tiered rates for electric, water and wastewater utilities.

Other agenda items include a municipal services agreement with the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe.

Clallam PUD

Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a public hearing Monday on proposed electric, water and wastewater budgets for 2015.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.

Commissioners also will consider adopting a resolution establishing a discrimination and harassment policy.

PA schools

The Port Angeles School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

No agenda was available Saturday.

Sequim schools

The Sequim School Board will consider whether to use a state match on a facilities improvement plan Monday.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the district boardroom, 503 N. Sequim Ave.
