BUSINESS BRIEFS — Shredding events to be hosted on Peninsula in October . . . and other local business items
Published 12:01 am Monday, September 29, 2014
Community document-shredding events once hosted by First Federal now are now being organized by food banks in Sequim, Port Townsend, Forks and Port Angeles.
First Federal continues to underwrite the cost of these events as a donation to each food bank.
Individuals can bring sensitive papers for shredding on site by LeMay Mobile Shredding, a professional shredding company.
There is no charge for the service. But canned food items and/or cash donations for the food banks are encouraged.
Types of documents to bring include old tax returns, account statements or any paperwork with account or Social Security numbers or other personal information.
There is a limit of three bags or three boxes of documents per vehicle.
Food bank-organized shred events in Port Townsend and Sequim were conducted earlier this month. Upcoming:
■ This coming Saturday: Port Angeles Food Bank, 402 S. Valley St.
■ Oct. 25: Forks Avenue Real Estate, 711 Forks Ave.
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at each location.
