SEQUIM — Household items that are powered by electrical cord or battery can be recycled, most for free, during the Olympic Peninsula Bluebills’ electrical, electronics and appliance recycling day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The recycling fundraiser, which is in cooperation with ECycleNW of Sequim, will be in the Sequim Valley Nazarene Church parking lot, 481 Carlsborg Road.
Vision program
Proceeds will go toward paying for membership in the World Vision Essential Supplies Program.
With a few exceptions, items will be recycled free of charge.
ECycleNW is waiving its usual $7 fee for vacuum cleaners, microwaves and plastic-drum washing machines.
A $30 recycling fee will be charged with refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners.
Fees are required because the refrigerant must be fully recovered.
ECycleNW also accepts computers, monitors and related peripherals, televisions, audio and video equipment, handheld electrical devices, lead acid batteries, rechargeable household batteries, dryers and dishwashers.
The owner is responsible for ensuring that any proprietary data or software has been removed from equipment received by ECycleNW.
Items can be dropped off or picked up.
There is a $10 fee for picked-up items.
To arrange for a pickup, phone Charlie Johnson at 360-797-1636 or email racer6J@hotmail.com.
