EYE ON JEFFERSON: Port Townsend City Council mulls bond proposition

The Port Townsend City Council will discuss a proposed $4.1 million bond measure to support the renovation of the Mountain View complex when it conducts a workshop Monday,
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council will discuss crafting an election resolution that, if approved by the council at a regular meeting, would begin the process for developing the measure for a 2015 ballot.
The measure would ask voters if the city should issue capital bonds in the approximate amount of $4.1 million to pay for capital projects at Mountain View and other buildings, and set an election date.
Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall.
Jefferson County
The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids at a meeting Monday for the purchase of midsize hybrid sedans.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in chambers, 1820 Jefferson St.
The county is looking for a contract with an automotive dealer where it can purchase several of these vehicles over a five-year period.
The vehicle class is more efficient and versatile than other options, according to the county.
Also on the agenda:
■ An agreement to purchase 5-yard and 10-yard dump trucks in the amount of $2,283,040.
■ An agreement to allocate $31,176 to the 2014 Conservation Futures Project in the Quimper Wildlife Corridor .
■ An agreement to allocate $34,560 for group-supported employment in an agreement with Skookum Contract Services.
City parks board
The Port Townsend Parks, Recreation and Tree Advisory Board Subcommittee will discuss dog leash laws Thursday.
The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the first-floor conference room at City Hall, 250 Madison St.
County parks board
The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will review questionnaire results at a special meeting Wednesday.
The meeting will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the first-floor conference room of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St.
The board also is scheduled to review existing strategies and plan an upcoming park tour.
Port of Port Townsend
Port of Port Townsend commissioners will review the port’s information technology contract when they meet Wednesday afternoon.
The afternoon meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in the port commissioners’ meeting room, 333 Benedict St.
The morning meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the same place will be a workshop.
The Jefferson County assessor will brief the commissioners on the county’s property tax outlook.
Port Townsend schools
The Port Townsend School Board will discuss a drug-free workplace policy and consider the resignation of Anne Burkart from the board when it meets Monday.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Gael Stuart Building, 1620 Blaine St.
Jefferson PUD
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a special budget workshop Wednesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
Jefferson Healthcare
Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will meet Wednesday.
The meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium, 834 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
