WEEKEND: Finnriver Farm & Cidery to harvest song, story in Chimacum

CHIMACUM –– In lieu of weeding, planting and picking, this Saturday on the farm includes hula hoops, storytelling and fights with foam swords.
Finnriver Farm & Cidery is hosting a Song and Story Festival from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the farm at 62 Barn Swallow Road.
The festival includes regional musicians, wood-fired pizza, non-alcoholic refreshments and, of course, cider for the adults.
Storyteller Aimee Ringle will weave tales of invisible trees, jumping mice and country living as she opens the entertainment from
11 a.m. to noon.
Harmonica Pocket offers up Americana-styled songs about vegetables, buds, diapers and ice cream from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Bellingham artist Harper Stone will lead attendees in interactive adventure stories, songs and puzzles and will start a war with foam-swords from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Folk duo Jamey and Dave Campbell will produce original songs of sailors, rickshaw taxis and dreams from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bellingham’s Sli na Bande Celtic music ensemble closes the show with a collection of folk and dance tunes produced with odd and interesting instruments from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A full-day family pass, for four or more people, is $20; a half-day family pass is $10; and single admission is $5.
Smoking and pets will not be allowed.
