BUSINESS BRIEF — ‘Upcycling’ fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity set in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County, 2001 W. Sims Way, is seeking artists and crafters for an “upcycling” fundraiser.

Participants can visit the Habitat Store to purchase an item, turn it into an “upcycled masterpiece,” return that item to the store for resale and receive a $25 refund from Habitat for materials bought for the “upcycled” piece, according to a news release.

The Habitat Store has a large selection of furniture, housewares, fabrics and more.

Participants’ items, profiles and contact information will be displayed at the store.

All of the proceeds from the sale of the items support Habitat’s work building and repairing homes in partnership with people in need.
