Mortar boards and flowers: Peninsula schools hold graduation ceremonies

North Olympic Peninsula high schools conducted commencement ceremonies last week.

On Thursday, 16 graduates received diplomas during Lincoln High School’s ceremony in the Little Theater on the Peninsula College campus in Port Angeles.

Lincoln High is an alternative school where students are given a second chance at graduation after having difficulty for a variety of reasons.

Students may graduate in four, five or six years.

On Friday, Sequim High School conducted commencement ceremonies for some 204 graduates, while about 230 received diplomas from Port Angeles High School.

On Saturday, Clallam Bay High School and Crescent High School in Joyce celebrated graduations with afternoon ceremonies.

Eleven seniors received diplomas from Clallam Bay High School at the 2 p.m. ceremony, while Crescent High School conducted commencement ceremonies for 16 seniors at 3 p.m.

Two weeks ago, Quileute Tribal School and Port Townsend, Chimacum, Forks, Neah Bay and Quilcene high schools held graduations for about 300 members of the class of 2014.
