WEEKEND: Activities fete Arbor Day in Port Townsend on Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — Several free events will celebrate Arbor Day in Port Townsend on Saturday.
National Arbor Day is today.
■ Port Townsend Parks, Recreation and Tree Advisory Board member Ron Sikes will lead a tree walk through Fort Worden State Park beginning at 9 a.m.
Participants will meet in the Fort Worden Commons parking lot. A Discover Pass is needed.
■ Board member Sarah Fairbank will lead a tree walk around the Uptown Historic District and through Chetzemoka Park at 11 a.m.
Participants will meet at the corner of Van Buren and Jefferson streets.
■ Park board members will plant a tree at Bobby McGarraugh Park at 12:30 p.m. and enjoy any remaining blooms from the 3,000 spring-flowering bulbs they planted throughout the park in October 2013 at the “Bulbfest at Bobby’s” extravaganza.
Meet at Bobby’s on Cherry Street and bring a picnic lunch.
