Albert Haller Foundation seeks grant applicants

The Albert Haller Foundation is accepting applications for funding of area nonprofit agencies providing services to the poor and needy in Clallam County.
Applications are due by Wednesday, June 26.
Information on the 2013 application process will be provided at a bidder’s conference from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Peninsula Behavioral Health multipurpose room, 118 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles.
Maximum grant
The maximum grant to any organization for 2013 will be $11,000, said the United Way of Clallam County, which makes recommendations for grant funding to the Haller Foundation’s board.
Albert Haller was born in Clallam County in 1903 and worked in the logging industry during the era of horses and steam donkeys. He and his wife left an ongoing legacy to the people of Clallam County.
Foundation grants are awarded annually to charitable organizations in Clallam County, with priority given to organizations providing food, housing, clothing, medical care and other programs for the poor in the county.
The amount to be distributed varies annually, depending on the earnings of the foundation’s endowment fund.
