U.S. Rep.-elect Derek Kilmer, a Port Angeles native soon to represent the 6th Congressional District, has hired Judith Morris to be his field representative in Clallam and Jefferson counties, he announced Monday.
Morris has worked for Rep. Norm Dicks since 2007, when Dicks named her to be his district director, and lived in Port Angeles since 1994.
Kilmer, a Gig Harbor Democrat, will succeed Dicks, a Belfair Democrat whose constituency includes Clallam and Jefferson counties, June 3, when Kilmer will be sworn into office.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to work for Congressman Dicks,” said Morris, a former Peace Corps volunteer.
“I know maintaining an accessible presence on the North Olympic Peninsula is a high priority for Representative-elect Kilmer, and I look forward to working with him to achieve this goal.”
Kilmer said he “could not be happier” that Morris is joining his staff.
“As a Port Angeles native, it is important to me that the residents of Clallam and Jefferson counties continue to receive the same excellent constituent service that they have come to expect from Representative Dicks.”
