THE COAST GUARD has rescued a 21-year-old female hunter missing near Queets River.

In a press release Tuesday night, officials said Coast Guard Sector Columbia River received a request for assistance from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office after the woman failed to appear at a pre-planned pick up site at Yahoo Lake near Queets on Sunday.

An MH-60 helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria, Ore., was launched to aid searchers and spotted the woman approximately nine miles from Yahoo Lake at 6 p.m. Monday.

She was picked up and taken to Forks, where Jefferson County Sheriff’s personnel were waiting.

The Coast Guard said she was uninjured. She was not identified.

There were no other details released by the Coast Guard.
