PORT TOWNSEND — A 54-year-old Port Townsend man was treated and discharged from Jefferson Healthcare after he was injured in a single-car wreck on state Highway 20 on Friday.
James Richards was driving eastbound on Highway 20 near Four Corners Road at about 1 p.m. Friday, just 5 miles west of Port Townsend, when his 2008 Nissan Sentra left the road and drove into a ditch, the State Patrol said.
The car struck a tree, rolled onto its roof and slid across the road, coming to a rest in the westbound lane, the State Patrol added.
Richards was listed Saturday morning as having been discharged from the Port Townsend hospital, according to a hospital representative.
The wreck prompted the closure of the westbound lane at Milepost 6 of Highway 20 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:48 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said.
The State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
Richards was wearing his seat belt; drugs or alcohol was not suspected as a factor in the crash, the State Patrol said.
