Woman hit trying to cross Highway 101

PORT ANGELES β A pedestrian struck by a car while crossing U.S. Highway 101 west of Port Angeles on Monday morning was reportedly in satisfactory condition later in the day.
The mishap happened at about
10 a.m. Monday, when Amy Critchfield, 32, of Port Angeles attempted to cross the highway at Bean Road, witnesses told Port Angeles police, who headed the investigation with assistance from the State Patrol.
βHer injuries did not appear to be life-threatening,β said Shane Martin, a Port Angeles police officer.
A representative of Olympic Medical Center said that Critchfield was in satisfactory condition Monday afternoon.
Critchfield was struck in the westbound lane of the highway, Martin said.
No charges are pending against the car’s driver, a 21-year-old Seattle resident, who was not identified.
Port Angeles police and State Patrol closed both lanes of Highway 101 during the investigation, reopening it about 12:30 p.m.
