Peninsula precinct caucuses set this afternoon

Democrats on the North Olympic Peninsula will join others throughout the state in holding presidential precinct caucuses today.

Doors will open at noon, and caucuses will begin at 1 p.m.

At the caucuses, which are open to those who proclaim membership in the Democratic Party, votes will be taken on the Democratic nomination for president of the United States, resolutions will be proposed for consideration for the Washington state Democratic Party platform, and delegates to the state convention will be elected.

Clallam County caucus locations, and the precincts they serve, are:

Port Angeles

■ Hamilton Elementary School, 1822 W. Seventh St., for Port Angeles precincts 17-26 and Black Diamond 208.

■ Dry Creek Elementary School, 25 Rife Road, for precincts Dry Creek 224, Eden 227, Freshwater Bay 233, Joyce 241, Edgewood 228, Elwha 230, Madison Creek, Piedmont 257 and Twin Rivers 274.

■ Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St., for Port Angeles 1-16 and Mount Angeles 250.
