PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center has opened a primary care clinic at Eighth and Cherry streets in Port Angeles, Chief Executive Officer Eric Lewis announced Wednesday.
The 4,233-square-foot building will provide more space for Olympic Medical Physicians, a division of OMC that runs the primary care clinic at 433 E. Eighth St. and other clinics in Clallam County.
“Our physicians and other providers moved in on Monday,” Lewis told hospital commissioners last week.
“So now, we have more space for primary care, and we’re looking to expand primary care availability.”
Hospital spokeswoman Bobby Beeman said Drs. Dick Van Calcar, Larry Gordon and Jerry Oakes — and physician assistants Bernadette Gonsalves and Rebecca Sorg — moved into the new building.
Drs. Elizabeth Christian, Mike Epler, Bill Kintner, Joseph Pullara, Mark Redlin and Michele Stafford and physician assistant Connie Walker will remain at the clinic at Eight and Vine streets.
Lab work and X-rays will remain at the 433 E. Eighth St. location.
Built in 1990, the new clinic housed Family Medicine of Port Angeles until December 2009, when Family Medicine moved to its present downtown location.
The new OMP clinic was remodeled recently to meet present codes for medical facilities.
