For businesses: state health department launches flu Web site

The state Department of Health has launched a new Web site with links to help businesses prepare for the expected spread of swine flu later this year.

The site, www.doh.wa.gov/h1n1, includes statistics on the spread of the virus, how to prepare for an outbreak and information about vaccines.

Officials urge employers not to require doctor’s notes for people who have overcome flu symptoms before returning to work.

Instead, they urge people who get sick to wait until they have overcome a fever for at least 24 hours before returning to work.
