SEATTLE — The state Transportation Commission has voted to approve a 2.5 percent increase in state ferry fares.

At today’s final hearing on the proposed increase, the commission also rejected the 10 percent summer “super surcharge.”

The fare increase affects Washington State Ferries, but not the ferries between Port Angeles and Victoria, which are operated by private companies.
