State agency investigating man’s deadly fall from cellular tower

PORT ANGELES — The state Department of Labor and Industries is investigating the death of a phone company subcontractor who fell to his death from a cell tower atop the Elks Naval Lodge building overlooking First and Lincoln streets.

Police say 40-year-old Jeremy Combs of Bonney Lake was about 40 feet up the tower on top of the building when he fell, L&I said today.
