PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center will describe to the public the challenges of attracting doctors to Clallam County at a pair of forums in Sequim and Port Angeles.

The meetings are scheduled for:

  • Noon to 1 p.m. March 20 in the Medical Services Building, 840 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

  • 6 to 7 p.m. March 25 in Linkletter Hall in the basement of OMC, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.

With 22 percent of Clallam County’s 70,000 resident 65 or older, 64 percent of OMC’s inpatients on Medicare (twice the state average), and the hospital’s doctors aging too, those challenges are steep, said spokeswoman Rhonda Curry.

Curry, assistant administrator of strategic marketing and communications, previewed the problem Wednesday to OMC commissioners.
