Clallam County Fair seeks theme for 2009

PORT ANGELES — Wanted! A theme for the 2009 Clallam County fair.

To get a head start on marketing needs — from logo design and T-shirts to barn decorations — Clallam County Fair officials want to choose a theme by February.

The entrant, whose theme is picked by the judging committee, will win $100 cash plus two fair passes and a theme-imprinted T-shirt.

  • Only residents of Clallam County are eligible to enter the contest.

  • There is no age limit for entrants.

  • Entries must be limited to not more than six words.

  • “Clallam County” may not be part of the slogan.

  • Limit is 10 entries per person.

  • Each entry must be on an individual piece of paper no smaller than 3-by-5 inches (standard file card).

    Important: If an entry is on something smaller than 3-by-5 inches, it will be disqualified.

  • Multiple entries may be submitted in one envelope.

  • The entrant’s name, address and telephone number must be on each entry.

  • Entries need to adapt well to the visual depictions needed for logo and T-shirt design

    All entries must be received in the PDN newsroom (or postmarked) by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.

    The 2009 winner and theme will be announced immediately after this year’s fair, which will be Aug. 14-17 at the fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles.
