PORT ANGELES – Two people charged in connection with the Dec. 21 gunshot death of a Port Angeles man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a host of charges in Clallam County Superior Court.

Kenneth Alan Owens, 39, was charged with second-degree murder while armed with a firearm/dangerous weapon, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana (methamphetamine).

Owens pleaded not guilty to all charges.

He is accused of shooting Zane L. Bebee, 32, of Port Angeles during a fight.

Bebee was found dead Dec. 15 on the porch of a residence in the Welcome Inn Travel Trailer Park at 1215 W. U.S. Highway 101.

Karen Unger, Owens’ court-appointed attorney, is scheduled to appear in court Friday to set a trial date.

Niccole Marie Charles, 35, of Port Angeles, was charged as an accomplice in the case, and was charged last week in connection with a separate burglary.
