Five first place awards to one contestant in Clallam County Fair logging show

PORT ANGELES — James Lev captured five first places in Saturday’s Logging Show at the Clallam County Fair.

Lev won the ax throw, single-man bucking and ax chop contests.

With Shelly Lev, he won the Ma and Pa Bucking competition. He won the double-man bucking prize with Branden Sirguy.

Complete results of the Logging Show are:

* Ax throw: Lev, first; Adam Dempsey, second; Jim Bissonette, third.

* Accuracy cut: Bissonette, first; Sirguy, second; Lev, third.

* Single-man bucking: Lev, first; Sirguy, second; Dempsey, third.

* Double-man bucking: Lev and Sirguy, first; Wayne Foggo and Dempsey, second; Mike Robbins and Bissonette, third.

* Power saw (6 cubic inches and under): Dempsey, first; Jack Voshalo, second; Bissonette, third.

* Power saw (6 cubic inches and over): Dempsey, first; Bissonette, second; Voshalo, third.

* Ax chop: Lev, first; Sirguy, second; Tyan Dempsey, third.

* Ma and Pa bucking: Levs, first; Branden and Katie Sirguy, second; Adam and Tyan Dempsey, third.

The fair also awarded prizes to businesses in the Merchant Display Contest. The winners were:

Unique Treasures Mall, Port Angeles, East End first prize, $75; Sterling Savings Bank of Port Angeles, East End second place, $50; Olympic Stationers of Port Angeles, East End third place, $25; Chinook Pharmacy and Variety of Forks, West End first place, $75.
