Port Angeles: Monroe School placed on closure path

Monroe Elementary School will be closed in June under a scenario approved late Monday by the Port Angeles School District board.

The board voted 4-1 to begin a 90-day closure process that concludes with shutting the school down June 30.

Board members Charlie McClain, Nancy McLaughlin, Jeff Hinds and Jessica Schreiber voted to close Monroe; Cindy Kelly cast the dissenting vote.
