Jefferson: Heavy wind gusts blast county, cause power outages

A southeast wind brought down power lines, toppled trees and churned stormy seas Thursday in East Jefferson County.

Though the winds — some clocked earlier at more than 50 mph — began to die down in Port Townsend just before 7 p.m., the National Weather Service in Seattle warned that breezy and wet weather is forecast through the weekend.
