Port Angeles: City Council eyes three rate hike options

PORT ANGELES — The average residential electric customer could experience a rate increase of as much as $4.65 per month under one of three potential electricity rate increase proposals presented to the City Council on Tuesday night.

A second option would increase electricity rates a little less in the first year and a little more in the second year.

A third option would keep rates the same but use more reserve funds.

Any rate increase will take effect Oct. 1.

A public hearing on the possible rate hike was continued until the council’s Aug. 19 meeting.
