Published 12:01 am Friday, February 28, 2003

In New Orleans, it’s Mardi Gras.

In Rio de Janeiro, it’s Carnival.

In Port Townsend, the Brazilian Jazz sounds of Jovino Santos Neto Quintet will bring a feeling of Carnival to Fort Worden State Park on Saturday night.

The quintet’s Centrum-sponsored appearance starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph F. Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden.

Santos Neto is noted for 15 years of contributions to the group led by Brazil’s master of contemporary music, Hermeto Pascoal.
