PORT ANGELES — Westport Shipyard has applied for a city building permit for the yacht manufacturing facility the company has proposed for three waterfront acres here.

The company’s plans call for a 100,000-square-foot yacht manufacturing facility to be built on three acres at 637 Marine Drive, just west of Platypus Marine’s boat repair facility.

The estimated $12 million facility will employ up to 200 people to build $30 million, 164-foot yachts.
