Clallam: Auditor candidates debate expenses, voting

SEQUIM — Incumbent Clallam County Auditor Cathleen McKeown says remodeling the motor vehicle licensing section of her office was done to prevent worker injuries and disabilities.

Her challenger, Andy Peake, doesn’t understand why that work included new countertops and rugs through the remainder of the office.

The two candidates debated issues during the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce’s weekly meeting Tuesday.

They face each other Nov. 5 in the general election.
