To our readers: Going to see Her Majesty?
Published 12:01 am Thursday, October 3, 2002
Are you planning to travel to Victoria Sunday to see Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during the golden jubilee festivities in the provincial capital?
Among the events is a procession from the Empress Hotel and appearance at the historical Parliament Buildings on Belleville Street at 2:30 p.m., preceded by a pre-show of the official welcoming ceremony starting at 1:30 p.m.
The PDN will be there, and we’d like to cover the impressions of North Olympic Peninsula residents who trek across the pond — OK, the Strait of Juan de Fuca — to see the royals.
Please contact Local News Editor Roger Harnack at 360-417-3521 or roger.harnack@peninsuladailynews.com, especially if you’re going as part of a group from the Peninsula.
For more information about the visit, log onto the official Web site at www.canadianheritage.gc.ca or the CanWest Web site at www.canada.com/national/features/royalvisit.
