Kelly leading Shea in Clallam prosecutor’s race

PORT ANGELES — Incumbent Chris Shea trailed challenger Deb Kelly in the first round of primary election vote counting Tuesday night for Clallam County prosecuting attorney.

Kelly, a Republican candidate and political newcomer, received 7,354 votes, or 58.2 percent.

Shea, a Democrat who is seeking his second term, got 5,277 votes, or 41.8 percent.

No matter what the final outcome, both candidates will face each other again on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
