PORT TOWNSEND — Blyn author Robert Steelquist will present “The Northwest Coastal Explorer” at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Steelquist will focus on his latest book, “The Northwest Coastal Explorer: Your Guide to the Places, Plants, and Animals of the Pacific Coast.”

The 2016 documentary about the late Dick Groin will be shown at the Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Sanctuary, 2333 San Juan Ave.

The film is a documentary portrait of one man, the wild salmon he loves and his fight to free the Elwha River.

PORT HADLOCK — The Jefferson County Library will host a presentation on email safety and security from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The free presentation at the library, 620 Cedar Ave., will show how identify spam and malicious emails, how to identify the sites behind links and the difference between unsubscribing from a message and declaring it spam.

The presentation will be followed by drop-in technical assistance from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Library tech staff will provide assistance on use of computers or hand-held devices.

Dungeons and Dragons

PORT HADLOCK — Charles Reeder will lead a Dungeons and Dragons adventure from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Meet author

SEQUIM — Author Jacqueline Carmichael will be available for a meet-and-greet and book signing for her newly-released book, “Tweets from the Trenches” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Over the Fence.

The book-signing will be at the store at 112 E. Washington St.

Published in September 2018, “Tweets from the Trenches” includes more than 150 stories from World War I from Allied soldiers, female combatants and nurses and the home front.

Carmichael, sister of Over the Fence owner Jeri Sanford, also will be gathering regional stories of World War I for her website, www.tweetsfromthe trenches.com, and she hopes Clallam County residents will bring in their pictures and memories of relatives who fought in the “Great War” to be photographed.

Carmichael is a dual American-Canadian citizen who has won awards for her journalism. She lives with her family on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
