The Olympic Kiwanis Club reports that its recent electronics recycling event in Port Angeles was even more popular than it planned for. The club, in partnership with SBK Recycling, collected 21,250 pounds of electronic devices and cables that will be recycled instead of ending up in a landfill.
The organizers expressed regret that the truck filled so quickly and that so many people were not able to recycle their devices. The club plans another event in September.
Donations at the collection site will benefit club projects, including the Kids’ Fishing Derby, Olympic Angels foster kids program and Camp Beausite.
