LETTER: Roadwork projects are poorly planned

Let me see if I have this correct:

Old Olympic Highway will be closed starting Monday for McDonald Creek bridge replacement.

Then starting Monday, July 31, there will be a culvert replacement project taking place on U.S. Highway 101 at Matriotti Creek east of Carlsborg Road.

This culvert replacement project will reduce speeds to 45 mph and reroute traffic on U.S. Highway 101 from two lanes east and west to one lane in each direction through the construction zone.

Does anybody else see a problem here?

You are forcing thousands of more vehicles each week onto U.S. Highway 101, then substantially reducing traffic flow.

Once again, who’s in charge?

The one that does the planning, coordination and timing of these two projects is — at the very least — overpaid.

Bill Walsh,
